Should the Side Bracket of the Curt # C13315 be Bent in Towards Middle of a Mazda CX-5

Question:

Vehicle:2018 mazda CX-5(KF)2WD My friend got this product from other sources, but he has not installed it yet. I am going to get the same product, but there is one thing I care about. Both faceplates driver side and passenger side look straight in the image of the product, but in his product the faceplate on the passenger side was bended inward. The uploaded image 1 is the face plate on the driver side. The uploaded image 2 is the face plate on the passenger side. Has the Curt hitches part # C13315 been updated?

From the picture that you sent it in simply looks like that bracket got bent during shipping. Your friend should be able to bend it back so that it fits their vehicle. I can guarantee that if you put the trailer hitch up like you are going to install it on their vehicle you will see that the bent bracket will cause the trailer hitch not to fit.

I have attached a photo of what the Curt # C13315 should look like. This is how the trailer hitch will look when it is shipped from our facility (in a box of course) and it will fit right up to your 2018 Mazda CX-5 in this shape.

If you let me know what you will be using the trailer hitch for I can make some recommendations for you if need be.
