Wiring Mighty Cord 4-Way to 7-Way Adapter on Tow Vehicle

Question:

i understand mostly what I need to do. However, If my trailer does not have brakes shall I.... A still splice the blue wire lead into the brake lights, on truck and trailer and just mount an extra side marker on each side and run it to them... B Or can i not hook it up to anything? will the unit function as a whole if I do this? C or can It be another aux wire. and set it up so it is an extra reverse light if i run a wire to a clear light mounted on the trailer? lmk if this makes sense i think i want to do either A or C but not sure if either would work with amount of power coming to trailer. Thanks for the reply and assistance, PS im way better understanding things with diagrams if you could that would be awesome...

The Mighty Cord Trailer Connector Adapter # A10-7084VP referenced in your question is exactly what you need to connect the 4-Way flat on your tow vehicle to the 7-Way on your trailer. After plugging the 4-Way on the adapter to the 4-Way on your vehicle, the only wire that NEEDS to go somewhere is the white ground wire, which you will securely attach to a bare metal surface on the vehicle's frame. The additional black, blue, and yellow wires can be simply taped off if you don't need them. Connecting the adapter in this manner would power the trailer's basic signal lights (running lights, brake lights, turn signals).

The blue wire coming from the adapter would typically be for electric brakes on a trailer (not for the brake lights) to send power to the actual brake assemblies. If you want to activate a reverse light or auxiliary function on the trailer, the yellow wire is what you will want to connect on the adapter.
