Does Yakima Halfback Trunk Mounted Bike Rack Fit 2014 Ford Escape with Spoiler

Question:

Trying to install Fullback2 on a 2014 Ford Escape. Top hooks supposed to hook over spoiler. Couldn’t get them all the way in place. Then tried to lift the hatch to put the bottom hooks in using anchor method. Had to pry hatch up and dented the spoiler because the top hooks could not fit in all the way. Should I have been able to open hatch without denting spoiler ? How else can I open hatch to get bottom hooks in?

I double checked with Yakima and for your 2014 Ford Escape they list the Yakima Fullback # Y0264 as a confirmed fit. We had the chance to install an identical older model rack on a 2013 Escape and a 2016 Escape. I attached the install videos down below that will walk you through the process of installing the rack in a way that would not damage the vehicle. I also added a review video of this rack. Sorry to hear about the spoiler though.

Typically all that's needed is to slightly open the rear hatch so that you have enough clearance to slip the hook past.
