Does Blue Ox Patriot Brake System Press Hard Enough On Pedal for When Vacuum Is Depleted
Updated 06/05/2018 | Published 06/04/2018 >
Question:
When the engine is off, the brake pedal is exceedingly hard to push to get braking. How does this unit overcome/adjust for whether there is stored vacuum in the system or it is needing to use brute force. And if the latter, it seems like a lot of force is needed.

Expert Reply:
The Blue Ox Patriot # BLU37TR that you referenced is designed for the harder brake application that's needed for a braking system with all of the vacuum depleted from the brake assist system. There'd be no way to keep vacuum in the brake booster with the vehicle off so this is designed with that in mind.
