It sounds like you are needing a 4-Way or 5-Way flat connector on your 2008 Toyota Tacoma to connect with your boat trailer.

If you do not yet have any connector installed, I recommend the Hopkins Plug-In Simple Wiring Harness # 33355. This custom harness will plug into factory ports located behind the rear bumper (on the driver and passenger side). This will provide you with a 4-Way flat connector.

If your boat trailer is equipped with a 5-Way connector, then you can simply add an adapter like the Tow Ready # 20036. This will plug right into the above-mentioned 4-Way and give you a 5-Way flat on the other end. The additional blue wire can be spliced into the reverse light wire on your truck.
