Rear Suspension Enhancement/Helper Springs for a 2011 Honda Odyssey
Updated 06/05/2018 | Published 06/01/2018 >
Question:
I have read through all or most of the posts regarding the Honda Odyssey with regard to either the Timbren or Airlift 1000, but Im still confused as to which would be the better option for my application. We get significant sag when the car is loaded people, dogs, fully packed with camping or traveling gear and it is even worse with a 4 bike hitch rack. This is not a typical arrangement - only a few times a year for vacations. We vary rarely use this vehicle for actual utility trailer towing - but the occasions that we have, the hitch practically drags on the ground. Which system to you suggest, keeping in mind that I believe I will have no problem installing either package - I just want the best solution for our problem.

Because of the variety of activities you do with your 2011 Honda Odyssey, from cargo and passengers, to light towing and bike racks, I recommend going with the Air Lift system # AL60815. It will offer some adjustability so you can stiffen the ride when towing or carrying bike racks, or soften it when carrying passengers or nothing at all.
Timbren springs will take out the sag but will also make the ride stiff even when nothing is loaded or being towed by the van.
I have linked a video showing an example installation of the Air Lift system for you. I also recommend adding the optional compressor system, # AL25850, so you can add/remove air from the air bags from the comfort and convenience of the vehicle cab. This also means you would not need an external compressor.
