Question:
Is the Chevy Ford adapter part number 4845900 is it for if a Dexter actuator is pulsating
asked by: Edward F
Expert Reply:
Adapters like the Titan BrakeRite SD Adatper, part # T4845900, will help keep electric over hydraulic actuator from pulsing. When a truck's integrated brake controller isn't compatible with EOH brakes the verification signal it sends back to the brakes reaches the actuator causing its motor to activate. In time this will cause the motor to wear out.
With that being said you have a Dexter actuator and we've never tested the BrakeRite SD adapter on a Dexter. Neither has Titan. We've been told that another adapter, the HydraStar, part # HBA-CAM, does work on Dexter actuators but we've never tested it ourselves. HydraStar can't confirm this either but if I were going to choose one to try it would be the HydraStar.
