A transmission cooler will help prolong the life of any automatic transmission so installing one in your 2009 Chevy Impala would be a great choice. The Derale # D13502 would be a great choice that would work well. These kits are universal so while it may not have parts that are specific to your vehicle the install is basically the same for all vehicles.
I attached an install video that shows a cooler installed on a similar Chevy as yours as well.
