Question:

We had the springs flipped on our toy hauler and now need to replace the entry 2 step on my 2018 Forest River Shockwave 25RQMX. The existing step mount box is 25 3/8inch wide and 12 5/8inch deep so that is the max exterior mounting size of step I can install. The entry threshold is 34inch off the ground. What are my options for replacement entry step?

We have new step options for your 2018 Forest River Shockwave 25RQMX toy hauler travel trailer that has had an axle over-under kit installed. All manual and electric steps are displayed on the linked page. Based on my research the OEM unit is a 2-step manual pull-out step.

Just in case you want to consider a potentially easier option we do offer large free-standing platform steps like # S-150 and others shown on the linked page. These cost less than new pull-out steps, offer a much larger 24 x 16-inch "landing" area and they can be useful in other camping applications too. I wanted to mention this option just in case it appeals to you.

The other linked page displays 3-step pull-out units like the Lippert Alumi-Tread # LC432696 which has the popular nominal width of 24-inches. What you'll want to check is the dimensions of your existing mounting brackets. The Lippert # LC432696 has a mounting bracket that measures 27-1/2" wide, 16" tall, and 12-3/16" deep. We provide these same dimensions for all of our steps in their specs to make it easy to find the best match.
