Review of Lippert Components RV Stairs and Steps LC432696

Today we're going to be taking a look at the Lippert alumi-tred manual pull-out steps for RVa. This is a triple step design. It's very strong, sturdy, and durable. It's a manually operated RV step that makes it easy to get into and out of your motor home. Right now, I have them fully extended. You can see it's a really nice design.

When you're ready to move it to a stowed position, very easy to do, just lift up on that step right there. It does have a grab handle on there. Underneath the second step or the middle step, there's going to be another grab handle. Grab that and it just rotates in to stowed position. Very light weight, easy to operate.

When you're ready to extend it out to usable position, grab right here on the handle, pull it straight out, grab right here on this handle, pull that out as well. That's all there is to it. Now this unit is going to feature an anti-slip design that offers excellent traction. We're going to have textured surfaces, right here on the surface of each step. It's going to provide traction in wet or muddy condition. Now that texture design also helps scrape items off of your feet before entering your RV.

Then located on each step are going to be two rubber strips that prevent slipping and they just increase overall safety by adding more traction. It's going to feature an aluminum step platform. These are completely rustproof. The light weight construction makes extending and retracting the steps virtually effortless, very easy to do. Then the linkages and the frame, that's all going to made from a steal construction. It has a powder coated finish on it which is going to be highly resistant to rust and corrosion as well.

It's a really nice, sleek, Euro-style design. It's an easy bolt on, weld on installation. It's going to mount to the RV frame in the same manner as your original steps. May require outriggers for installation. Outriggers are sold separately. Does have the attachment points for installation of outriggers if needed. Mounting hardware is not included, so that will need to be provided separately as well. A few measurements we're working with real quick. We want to take a measurement of the actual steps. If we place a tape measure on it, we're going to do the width and the depth. Just measuring the aluminum portion, this is going to give us a width measurement, about 25 and a half inches to 25 and five-eighths of an inch wide. The depth of each step, that's going to measure about eight and five-eighths of an inch deep. That's going to be the same for each one. Next thing I want to mention is simply just the drop and rise, so from the top of the mounting plates to the top of the first step, we're going to have a measurement of about five inches. Then from top to top to top, the distance in between, that's going to be eight and three quarters of an inch. That's for each one, so drop and rise from step to step is eight and three quarter. From top step to top mounting plates, about five inches. When it comes to the mounting base, what I'm doing is I'm measuring edge to edge, so outer edge to outer edge. That's going to give us a measurement of about 27 and three quarters of an inch. Then when it comes to the width of that mounting plate, it kind of tapers in here. Corner to corner, that's going to measure eight and a half inches. Then edge to edge here where it's kind of extended out a little bit, that's going to be nine and a half inches. When it comes to the bolt hole pattern, there's going to be two bolt holes on top of each side plate. Center on center, the distance going this direction. These are going to be separated a part from one another. On center by seven inches. Then going center on center across from one another, those are going to be separated by 26 and three-eighths of an inch. The side plates, they're going to give us a width measurement of twelve inches wide. Height measurement of sixteen inches tall. This unit has a weight carrying capacity of 300 pounds. That's going to do for today's look at the Lippert alumi-tred manual pull out steps, for RVs.
