Question:
I am in need of a weight dist hutch with sway control. I need a hitch with 1600lbs of tongue capacity. Additionally I need a shank to go with it. I need a minimum of 12” of drop. What are my options? I’ve spent hours on your sight and like the Reese straight line. But is there a minimum 12” shank that’ll work with it?

For your weight distribution system with sway control, you have arrived at my favorite system for sway control in the Reese Strait-Line. The Strait-Line Weight Distribution w Sway Control - Trunnion Bar # RP66075 is the system you want and it will allow for total tongue weights between 1,000 and 1,700 lbs. That includes the loaded trailer tongue weight and any cargo behind the rear axle of your tow vehicle.
The issue you will find is the 12 inches of drop. That is a lot, so you must have a really lifted truck or an extremely low trailer or both. The best option for a 2-1/2 inch hitch receiver is the Gen-Y Torsion Weight Distribution Shank - 2-1/2" Hitch - 6-1/2" Drop/Rise - 16K # 325-GH-1102. This is obviously not a 12 inch drop so you will also need to look at raising your trailer height or lowering your truck.
