Question:
I just want to make sure this is the right base plate for my 2005 Dodge1500 4x4? item # 260- 1. Also is there going to be any cutting into my frame in order to make this fix? What about the hooks that are there will I have to remove them? and will I have to remove the bumper to install it? Thanks

Helpful Expert Reply:
Yes, for your 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 with tow hooks the correct base plate kit is the Roadmaster # 260-1 that you referenced.
I checked the instructions and your tow hooks can be left on the truck. A portion of the bumper comes off temporarily but the bumper itself does not totally remove when installing the # 260-1 that you referenced. Also you won't need to cut the frame.
