Question:

Im looking for a 2 inch receiver and electrical kit for a 2016 GMC Savanna 3500, 15 passenger van. There are multiple options. Which one would you recommend? 6000 pd towing or 10,000 pound towing? And, which wiring kit. We will be using it to tow a covered trailer for camp supplies. The van is for an inner city ministry called Rock House Kids. Thanks.

For your 2016 GMC Savanna 3500 15 passenger van, I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # 14090. This is a very strong hitch with a towing capacity of 10,000 lbs or up to 12,000 lbs when using a weight distribution system. This is an easy installation with no drilling required.

For your trailer wiring harness, I recommend the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118392 which will install to the factory plugs found behind the trim panels on each side in the cargo area.

Because we don't know the height of your trailer, you may want to consider the Curt Channel Style Adjustable Ball Mount # C45900. This will allow you to use a 2 inch or 2-5/16 inch hitch ball to match your trailer coupler and also allow you to adjust the height so you can tow level. I recommend a locking hitch pin like # C23519 or a standard pin # PC3 to install the ball mount.
