Question:
Your web site says this will fit my 2018 2.5i Legacy Limited while the Curt Mfg web site says it wont fit. Can you confirm it will fit and explain whit Curt Mfg says it wont? I am looking for a fairly hidden hitch and this looks like the best you offer. Would you agree? Does the paint hold up on it?

Curt trailer hitch # C12290 will fit the 2018 Subaru Legacy. We know this because the larger Class III hitch, # 13390, fits both the 2017 and 2018 Legacy and the smaller Class II, # C12290, installs in the same way as the Class III. I couldn't say why Curt lists it the way that they do.
But given the option I would go with the Class III, # 13390, since it is a more capable and sturdy hitch that will afford you many accessory options.
If you are going to use a hitch for an accessory such as a bike rack or cargo carrier then I actually do not recommend using either Curt hitch. The reason is that for the available hitches for your Legacy Curt recommend the use of a stabilization strap, # 18050, when using the hitch for anything other than a trailer. The Draw-Tite hitches, # 75673 and # 36493, do not have that requirement.
The finish on the Curt hitches is considered by some to be superior. They do hold up well. If you do notice any scratches you can give it a shot of black spray paint.
