Ladder Rack/Roof Rack Recommendation for Chevy Silverado with Camper Shell

Question:

Have a 2000 Chevy Step Side with an ARE shell. Can I use your system to mount a Thule type cargo rack?

There's a roof/ladder rack that's made specifically for fitting camper shells like what you have on your 2000 Chevy Silverado. For that you'd want the TracRac CapRac part # TH29200XT which would fit and work well.

There's a pretty good chance you could get the Swagman part # S80510 to fit as well but it's not designed or rated for that.

I have ARE capper on 2020 Ford Ranger. The cap has ARE installed tracks about 41.5” apart on each side of capper top. What parts do I need to get the Swagman S80510 to fit to the tracks? Thanks for your help

The Swagman Roamer LT # S80510 is designed to fit a naked roof. Since you have the tracks on your ARE cap you need a different kit like the Rhino-Rack Roof Rack for Factory Tracks # Y02-490B-NT.
