Question:

TH 599000. I have VW factory bars on a 2016 Sportwagen. Will the TH 599100 fit into the slot on top of the bar as designed for Thule aero bars?, or will it clamp around the bar? Will you include the fat tire adapter TH 599100 if I buy two TH 599100s?

The Thule UpRide Roof Bike Rack # TH599000 referenced in your question will fit T-tracks that measure 20x20 mm. I recommend taking a quick measurement on your VW factory crossbars to see if its built-in channel matches this dimension. Otherwise, the carrier will indeed clamp around the factory bars without issue.

This is a really nice, wheel-mount bike carrier that will secure 1 bike of up to 44 pounds. The ratcheting, padded hook will secure the bike by its front wheel while the rear-wheel cradle can slide along the aluminum wheel tray to accommodate a variety of wheelbases.

If you have a fat bike, you will just need to add the Fat Bike Adapter # TH599100, which will work with tires up to 5 inches wide.
