Question:
I purchased a Curt Item # C16520-16020 slider hitch. I love it so far. The question I have is, should I lubricate the slider tubes and if so with what type of product? Thanks.

Helpful Expert Reply:
You don't actually want to grease the tubes that the hitch slides along. Technically those tubes are really just guides for the hitch to go along. The actual part you want moving is the rollers going along those tubes.
Now you can add a little white lithium grease, like part # L11354, on the shoulder bolts that hold the rollers in place. And I mean a little because it certainly doesn't need much. It's such a small amount that it isn't something Curt even mentions as far as regular maintenance but they've told me it can be helpful. You also want to check the torque on those same bolts.
