Question:
I recently purchased a 2013 Outlander Sport and am adding a hitch and wiring for a trailer. Do I need the wiring for LED lights or w/out LED lights? How do I know which kit to get?

Hello Brent,
For your 2013 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport the wiring kit you need is dependent on whether your tail lights have light bulbs or if it has a bunch of the little bubble/small dot lights. If you have the large bulb lights, then you will want the Curt Powered Tail Light Converter with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C59236. If you have a bunch of the small dot style lights, then you will want the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118538. If you cannot tell if your lights are bulbs or LED's from a quick visual inspection, then I recommend removing one of your tail lights and checking for light bulbs to determine if they are there or not. The reason for the two different harnesses is the LED lights have far less power draw than the incandescent light bulbs so the signal strength is different.
With either option, I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # C13079. I also recommend the ball mount kit # 989900. I've attached videos and an article to assist.
