I need to know what nc and c mean on the display screen.

On the Tekonsha PRIMUS Brake Controller, # TK90160, a message that reads nc means no trailer is connected. A message of c means that a trailer is connected. If you are getting the nc code even if a trailer is connected, it could be caused by one of, or a combination of, several possibilities.
Trailer connected with open circuit on brake line.
Trailer connector disconnected or corroded.
Loss of trailer brake magnet ground.
