Question:

Hi, I want to confirm that the DM8552028 custom mounting brackets will fit my 2018 F-150 5.5 foot bed, and do not require drilling into the frame. Also, that these will mount to the standard bed rails, and thus allow me to use the Demco Recon hitch. thanks

I do have a solution for you, but unfortunately the Demco brackets # DM8552028 are not a confirmed fit for your 2018 Ford F-150.

For a custom fit installation kit you will want to go with the Reese Quick-Install Custom Installation Kit # RP50087-58 which comes with brackets that mount to existing holes in the frame of your F-150.

The base rails that come with this kit use the industry standard mounting points that the Demco Recon # DM8550043 will fit. Please note that since you have a 5-1/2' bed you need to have a Reese Revolution or Sidewinder pin box installed on your 5th wheel trailer to allow for trailer-to-cab clearance when making sharp turns. This will require you to use the wedge # SWW-05 so that the king pin side of the pin box stays fixed in the jaw of the Recon.
