Question:

I’m thinking about buying the Demco Hijacker Autoslide hitch. I have a 2018 F250 with the prep package. With a standard kingpin on my camper. 1. Does the hitch come ready to go other than putting it together and adjusting it? Will I need to purchase anything else? 2. Will it come apart easily to lighten it up to allow for easy removal from the truck? Thank you

The 5th wheel hitch head on the both the 18K # DM8550024 and the 21K # DM8550038 Hijacker Autoslide for your 2018 Ford F-250 Super Duty is easily removed. There is a simple pin system that needs to be removed to take the hith head (which weighs about 60 lbs) off of the body of the hitch. I have attached a picture from the installation details highlighting this for you to check out.

If you have a Glide Ride, Mor Ryde, Trailair Tri Glide, or 5th Airborne pin box, you must install a special locking plate (sold separately), but aside from that there really is nothing else that is needed. Let me know if you have one of these pin boxes and I can let you know what the correct locking plate is.
