Question:
I am not a plumber so the sizes of the product dont mean anything to me. I bought a new Camco pigtail that has a male fitting on the end which is nominally 7/16. The regulator on my RV has a female port to accept the male on the pigtail. The female port is nominally 9/16 inch Will this adapter work to make the connection? Thanks

The confusing thing about propane is that the title size of the fittings usually don't reflect the actual size of the fitting itself.
If your Camco pigtail has an inverted flare fitting like what is shown in the attached picture then the Camco Propane Fitting # CAM59953 is exactly what you need as most regulators take the 1/4" MPT male fitting as is shown in the second picture.
Some regulators, like part # CAM59005, already come with the adapter installed but some, like part # CAM59313, require the adapter to be installed afterwards.
I have attached a few helpful propane articles that you can reference as well.
