Class V Trailer Hitch Receiver for a 2005 Fleetwood Tioga 29V

Published 04/06/2018

Question:

Thank you for the response, another question though, do you know what type of hitch came w/this type of vehicle? is it a class III or is that too hard for you to know? Does it also have to be welded or can it be bolted?

In order to maximize the full tongue weight capacity of your 2005 Fleetwood Tioga 29V which is on a Ford E-450 chassis, I recommend using a Class V hitch like the Draw-Tite Ultra Frame Service Body Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 41990-16 for 16" tall brackets or part # 41990-07 for 7" tall brackets which both have a tongue weight capacity of 1,600 lbs and should be more than enough for your two dirt bikes and carrier. Either hitch would require modification in order to be bolted or welded to the frame. Unfortunately, we do not offer an exact fit hitch for your RV therefore this would be the only option I have for you at this time.

Unfortunately, there would be no way for me to know what class hitch was installed on your RV from the factory. In order to determine this, you can either look for a sticker placed on the hitch itself or call the chassis manufacturer (Ford) with your VIN. The Draw-Tite Ultra Frame Service Body Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 41990-16 for 16" tall brackets or part # 41990-07 for 7" tall brackets can be bolted on. There are 5 holes on the side of each bracket which can be bolted into the frame of your RV for installation. The brackets do not come pre-welded to the crosstube so you can easily removed them and use them as a template for the new holes. The whole process is actually rather simple.
