The available trailer hitches designed for use on RVs are not rated high enough to be considered Class IV or V hitches. So what you will need is to install a heavy duty truck hitch. We have several options, see link, depending on the frame width on your RV. For example hitch # 41991-07 is a Class V weld-on hitch that fits a frame width up to 62 inches wide.

Frame width is measured from the outside of one frame rail to the outside of the other. Any weld-on options should be installed by a professional welder.

I'm trying to find a class 4 hitch for my Ford F-53 chassis, problem is I measured the frame rails , they're only 34" outside to outside. I know Curt makes one because a friend of mine had one installed on their motorhome that is exactly like mine.

@TimB What's the year of your chassis and model of your motorhome?

@KevinC Thanks for replaying, I found the correct Curt hitch that will fit my 2021 Coachmen Encore 325SS, it's the Curt 15445. It fits the right up to my frame rails, which are 34" outside to outside.

@TimB We don't have the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C15445 confirmed as a fit for an F-53 chassis. Have you seen anyone successfully install it on one?
