Installing Front Mount Receiver Hitch - Item # 31038 On A 2003 Ford F-150 - 4x4
Updated 03/30/2018 | Published 03/29/2018 >
Question:
I just opened the box containing a front receiver for my F150 4x4 truck. Per the instructions I have removed the front tow hooks. The receiver has three holes but my truck frame only has two. The kit came with two bolts but I dont see a use for them? It looks like I will also have to remove the skid plate a modify it to make room for the receiver. Am I missing something? Please explain.

I contacted the manufacturer and they confirmed that the receiver should fit. However, they stated that if your 2003 Ford F-150 is the old body style then it will not. Let me know if it is the old body style and we will look for other options if necessary. There should be an additional bolt hole on the frame which is where those 2 bolts go.
You will also have to remove and modify the skid plate to have enough room for the receiver.
