Brake Winch Recommendation for Trailer with Roller Bunks to Feed Boat Out Onto Water

Updated 03/27/2018 | Published 03/26/2018

Question:

I have a load rite roller trailer and I am unable to launch it alone as the weight of my boat rolls off the trailer as the center of gravity shifts. My boat is 20 4 and weights appx. 2500 lbs. What would be your recommendations for the new bunk brackets and the size of the new bunks?

Your best option would be a winch that can be fed out when you are launching your boat so that you don't have to just let it free wheel and take off in to the water by itself.

For that the Fulton hand winch part # F142430 that has a hand brake would be a fantastic option. It would let you feed the winch out as needed in a controlled manner and won't require you to swap out the rollers of your trailer for bunks.

For a cable you'd then want the part # FWC7500100.
