Question:
Can you dingy or flat tow a 2014 chevy Malibu with eAssist? The owners manual says we have to car dolly it but many people on these forums say they are flat towing them?

You cannot dingy or flat tow a 2014 Chevy Malibu with eAssist due to that eAssist feature. You can however dolly tow it using the Roadmaster Tow Dolly # RM-2050-1. Your owners manual will allow for dolly towing with the front wheels off the ground. You simply load the front wheels on the dolly, shift to park as usual and then secure the vehicle to the dolly with the wheel nets.
This dolly is equipped with electric brakes and all the light functions, but you will need to add the 7 way connector # PK12706 as the unit only comes with the bare wires to connect.
Flat towing your vehicle as you say people are doing will void the manufacturers warranty and the manufacturer states the drivetrain components can be damaged. 2014 Malibu models without the eAssist have no problem being flat towed.
