Will a 2018 Volkswagen GTI Make Contact with the Ramps on Tow Dolly RM-2050-1 While Driving

Question:

Hi, my owners manual states that my 6 speed cannot be flat towed. Im concerned with the fixed ramps on the dolly damaging the car when hitting bumps, etc... Do you have any advice on towing low profile cars? Thanks!

The bump or dip in the road would have to be fairly severe for the ramps on tow dolly # RM-2050-1 to make contact with the bottom of your 2018 Volkswagen Golf. The ramps are not all that long and the dolly and vehicle will move up and down with the travel of the tow dolly suspension. If there is any contact it is unlikely that it would be forceful enough to damage anything on the vehicle. I understand though; it's a new vehicle and you want to be sure!

I recommend taking a look at the linked instructions for the tow dolly which includes not just assembly instructions but also procedures to ensure you load and unload the dolly successfully.
