Question:
This set of cables is listed as being compatible with the Jeep Renegade, and the pictures/video even show the chains being placed on a Jeep renegade. My owners manual states not to install chains on the vehicle unless I have alternative smaller wheels and tires, and the vehicle came with a disclaimer in CA that it is not tire chain compatible. My Jeeps tire size is 215/65R16. Are these safe to use with my Jeep Renegade? I need chains badly so I can visit the mountains, but dont want to chance destroying my vehicle. The disclaimers from Jeep as compared to the fit info I find online are very confusing. Thanks!

You aren't alone. A lot of vehicle manufacturers are erring on the side of caution and putting dislcaimers on using tire chains. Basically, this keeps them from being responsible if any damage is caused by the chains. It doesn't mean using chains will definitely damage the vehicle. But you do need to be careful when selecting them.
I recommend choosing tire chains that are Class S compatible. Class S chains are designed for vehicle that have a small amount of clearance between the tires and any part of the vehicle to prevent contact. The Glacier cables that you referenced, part # PW2016C, are Class S compatible and fit your 215/65 R16 tires as is shown in the video. So they're a good choice. You also need to add the rubber adjusters to keep tension on the chains, part # PW105.
There are a couple of other Class S chains confirmed to fit your Renegade but the price goes up quite a bit. I've linked all of them for you.
