Recommended Boat Lift Winch to Replace 2500 lb Shelby Winch

Question:

i am replacing the winch on my boat lift it is a cantilever style the boat weighs about 3000 lbs. with double pulls on the lift 1 each side trying to determine correct size without oversizing the unit old winch was a 2500 lb shelby

This is a very nice option that will keep the handle from free-wheeling and possibly hurting someone. The automatic brake stops the load when hand cranking stops.

Another great option is the Fulton High-Performance Brake Winch - Cable Only - 2,500 lbs # F143201. This also has an automatic brake and a zinc finish rated for 600 hours of salt spray.

Both have a 5 year warranty. The biggest difference is the enclosed versus exposed gears.
