Why Would Temperature Gauge of Derale Transmission Gauge # D13009 Peg to 300 Degrees
Updated 03/05/2018 | Published 03/04/2018 >
Question:
When I hook up the power to the gauge it goes to 300 degrees and stays there and will not register properly.Vehicle is a E350 Ford motorhome with a V10 and torque shift trans. I am using the test port for the install. Thanks.

The + sign on the right-hand terminal on the Derale Transmission Temperature Gauge # D13009 is for connection to an ignition-controlled 12V power source. The middle terminal connects to a chassis ground. Both connections require 18-gauge wire. The left-hand "S" terminal is for the sensor, as you noted, and its wire can be as long as needed (within reason!) to reach from the sensor to the gauge. Most likely you have the 12 volt or ground wire ran to the sensor terminal and it's causing the sensor to ground out and peg to 300 degrees.
