The SAE just means it has passed Society of Automotive Engineer Guidelines and the letter indicates what it's function is. In this case, the Peterson Amber Rectangular Reflector # B484A is an SAE-A, which means it is a rear reflector. If you are needing a replacement reflector you will simply need a reflector with the same dimensions. For the Peterson # B484A those dimensions are 1-3/4" x 3-1/2" and it has adhesive backing to apply to your trailer.
