Tip for Retrieving Lost Bolt in Jeep Frame When Installing Hitch

Question:
When installing a 13084 hitch on a 2001 jeep xj, I pushed one of the passenger side bolts up into the frame and I cannot get it out. Can I leave it in there? Can you get it out by removing bumper?

Expert Reply:
If you leave the bolt in the frame you most likely wouldn't ever notice that it was there, but there's a small chance you could hear it rattle around.
If you have one of those telescoping magnet tools for retrieving lost bolts that may be helpful. It's hard to say what kind of frame access you'd have if you took the bumper off since we've never had to do that.
