Will Thule Trunk Rack Damage 2017 Mercedes-benz C-Class Bumper Cover

What does it mean may deform bumper cover? Thule trunk rack for 2017 C class sedan? This is the one I think I want but concerned about damaging the car in any way since its on a lease. Thx.

The Thule Passage 2 Trunk Mounted Bike Carrier, Item # TH910XT, is a confirmed fit for your 2017 Mercedes-Benz C-Class. It will provide stability to transport two bikes and mounts to the rear of your Mercedes-Benz with six integrated straps. Because part of the mounting involves the rear bumper cover there is a possibility for it to be deformed by this or any bike carrier accessory because of the additional strain placed on it.
For women's and alternative frame bikes, you will need the Thule Adapter Bar, Item # TH982XT. For security, I recommend the Thule Passive Security Strap, Item # TH533.
