Upgrading Axles on a 2016 Heartland Wilderness WD 2775 RM Camper
Updated 02/09/2018 | Published 02/07/2018 >
Question:
We bought a 2016 Heartland Wilderness camper without doing research and now our axle is not equipped to handle the load. What is your best advice about replacing the axle. Its a 2016 WD 2775 RM 31.6 The pictures are not our camper but looks exactly the same with the same layout, including the outdoor kitchen. They give you all of the storage space with an axle of a bicycle. Thank you,

I did some research on your 2016 Heartland Wilderness WD 2775 RM camper and it appears as if it was equipped with two 3,500 lb axles on a frame with a GVWR of 7,400 lbs. If you are wanting to upgrade the axles I recommend using the Timbren Axle-Less Suspension part # ASR5200S01. The Timbren system is very easy to install and will give you a 5,200 lb weight capacity per set. The rebound springs on the system will act as a return device to minimize rattle and bottoming out. This makes for a much smoother ride in comparison to straight axles. They also work independently of one another unlike a straight axle which will increase ground clearance and reduce body roll while turning.
This system has a 5-bolt brake mounting flange and uses 25580 inner/LM67048 outer bearings which should be what is on you trailer now but you will want to check to make sure. I have attached a review/install of this system for you as well.
