Question:

I already own a blue ox base plate that has aluminum removable tabs that connect to the tow bar. I am rigging a 05 Jeep with double tube bumper. My question is will the removable tabs from my blue ox base plate fit on the Roadmaster EZ4 base plate in the socket where the removable ends go? The connection looks the same. If this will work I will be buying the Roadmaster base plate. Blue ox does not make a base plate for my Jeep that will work with my current tow bar setup.

For your 2005 Jeep Wrangler with double tube bumper, the Blue Ox Base Plate Kit # BX1124 is a confirmed fit as is the Blue Ox # BX1120 with fixed arms. I recommend you go with one of these options instead of the Roadmaster EZ4 # RM-521424-4 which will not be compatible with the Blue Ox Removable Arms you currently have.

If you do go with the EZ4 # RM-521424-4, then there are some Blue Ox Tow Bars that will work if you use an adapter. The majority of Blue Ox towbars will work with those baseplates when you use the Roadmaster Tow Bar Adapter # RM-032. I've attached an article to assist, but the Aventa, Aventa II, Aventa LX, Adventurer, Aladdin, Alpha, Ambassador, Alexxa, Acclaim and Allure will all be compatible with this adapter on the Roadmaster EZ4 baseplates.
