Bike Rack Recommendation for E-Bikes with Fenders at Rear of Motorhome
Published 01/25/2018 >
Question:
Wife and I have two electric bikes. One is the Electra Townie Go! and the other is the Electra Townie Step Thur model. Both have front and back fenders. We would like to use the Swagman Escapee 2-Bike Platform with our 24foot motor home but both bikes have front fenders. The videos show that the hold down clamps must be up against the front forks when set. Is there anything we can go other than remove the front fenders?

You have one of the harder setups to find a bike rack for since there aren't as many motorhome-approved bike racks available since the ride is much rougher at the rear of an RV. Since you have fenders that rules out the Escapee since you can't use fendered bikes with this rack.
However, I have a great rack for you that is approved for motorhomes and hold the bikes by the frame, not the wheels. I recommend the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes - 2" Hitches - Frame Mount
Item # HLY84FR. It can hold bikes up to 80 pounds each on a class 3 hitch.
