Question:

Im confused I have a 2007 VW EOS 2 L turbo 6-speed manual I want to flat tow it behind my motorhome. The owners manual States even from manual transmission to flat tow no more than 30 miles. I see there is a base plate made for flat Towing this vehicle so whats the deal. Again I have a 2007 VW EOS 2L Turbo with a manual 6-speed thank you

The Roadmaster EZ Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms 521234-1 (DISCONTINUED) was a confirmed fit for your 2007 VW EOS 2.0L Turbo as you stated and will fit 2007-2010 models according to Roadmaster. They say it can be flat towed with other restrictions, but I do not recommend doing this.

Your owners manual will always trump a fit as they don't test anything other than the fit and strength. In this case your owners manual will require you to use a dolly to tow your vehicle.

I recommend the Roadmaster Tow Dolly with Electric Brakes - 4,250 lbs # RM-2050-1 for your needs. You will want to get a ball mount that will allow you to tow this dolly level. I've linked the page to your options for adjustable and fixed style ball mounts. I've also attached an article to assist in choosing the correct mount for your application. You will need 7 way wiring and I recommend the 7-Way Molded Trailer Plug with Junction Box # HS381-9000 to give you the braking functions versus the 4-way it comes with.
