I was unable to verify the dimensions on the JR Products basket you mentioned, but I can provide you with the dimensions on the Valterra Replacement Sink Strainer Basket # A01-2018VP, so you can see if it will work well as a replacement.
The basket portion is 1-11/16 inches in diameter at the top and has an overall height of 1-5/16 inches. I have included an image with the dimensions labeled that you can also check out. I recommend comparing this to the dimensions on your existing unit to see if this will work well.
