How Much Crossbar Overhang Does Thule Hullavator Need to Install

Question:

I know you need 4-6 inches of extension of bar. I have 12 inches, is that too much ??

The Thule Hullavator part # TH898 that you referenced needs to have 4 to 8 inches of crossbar that extends past the foot of the roof rack. 12 inches would be too much. If you can move the crossbars in the feet you could slide the bars 4 inches in towards the vehicle and then you'd be able to install the # TH898,
