Question:

A friend of mine has a 2008 Chev silverado 3500 HD dually 4x4 8ft bed. he was rear ended while pulling his gooseneck trailer and the insurance company will replace his hitch but no one can seem to find the correct rail kit. He has a reese 18k signature series 5th wheel hitch part # 30847 with the puck attach system and a reese gooseneck I believe part # 30845 hitch. Would you be able to help me with a part number for the reese rail system or is there another manufactures rail kit that he can use with his hitches? Thank You

The Signature Series by Reese was replaced by the Elite Series which is very similar but the pucks are a little bit different. The problem is they never made an Elite solution for your truck due to the age which is still strikes me as odd.

So is just the rail kit damaged? Or the hitch too?

If he's getting both the rail and hitch replaced best option is to go with a B and W Companion hitch part # BWRVK3500 and rail kit part # BWGNRK1067 which is a custom fit for the 2008 Chevy Silverado. This is the closest under-bed rail setup we have as a fit for his truck. Many refer to the Companion setups as being the nicest on the market as well so it's a great hitch setup that he'll really like.
