Opening Dimension of Clevis Hook For Safety Chain Connection To Trailer Hitch Safety Loops

Question:
Have a Ford F250SD, My campers safety hooks 5/16inch with safety latch will not hook into hitch. Too small. DO you know if the Clevis hook with spring loaded safety latch 7/16inch will work?

The Curt Clevis Hook with Spring Loaded Safety Latch - 7/16" - 40,000 lbs # C81970 will work with most systems. Without knowing the hitch or the diameter of the safety loops, I can't confirm a fit other than to tell you the opening of the hook is 1-1/8 inch. The vast majority of 2, 2-1/2, and 3 inch trailer hitch receivers will allow this 7/16 hook with spring to work. I've attached a video to assist as well.
