Will a Thule Force XL Cargo Box mount on Yakima Jetstream crossbars Y00425? Do the mental claw clamps on the Thule box scratch the crossbars? Does the Thule Force XL box open wider than the Yakima Skybox 16cf? The Thule box is 1” taller inside and appears to open wider. The exterior dimensions of the Force XL are 84x34.5x17. The interior deminsions are 80x35x14. What causes the 3” loss in height in the interior?

Yes, the Thule Force XL cargo box part # TH6358B will fit on Yakima Jetstream Crossbars # Y00425.
If you take a look at the picture I attached that shows the bottom of the cargo box you'll be able to see why the box has a much taller exterior height than interior height based on the size of the ribs on the bottom.
