Can Stabilizer Jacks be Used to Lift and Support Trailer?
Updated 11/29/2017 | Published 11/28/2017 >
Question:
Would 4 domar stabilizer jacks be enough to lift and support a light duty 4x8 trailer with a gross weight of 600-1000 lbs so as the wheels can be taken off? I'm making a camper/fish house and would like to drop the deck height at least 6 inches while ice fishing. I considered going from 12 inch wheels to 8 inch wheels but that will only get me 2-3 inches lower, and there is no room for an axle flip. A drop axle is out of my budget.

Stabilizer jacks are not designed to lift and support trailers for something like taking the wheels off; they are meant to simply level and stabilize by handling a portion of the trailer's weight. I would not be able to recommend using stabilizer jacks to keep a trailer up. A better option would be a bottle jack such as the Powerbuilt # ALL620471 to remove tires.
I've added links to a pair of video reviews of this jack for you to take a look at.
