How to wire it?

First we need to locate the CHMSL (Center Height Mounted Stop Light) wire on your 2008 GMC Sierra. If you have a 7-way already you will want to check behind that connection for a light blue wire. If you don't have a 7-way prewired you will want to look for a wiring harness up above the spare tire. You may have to push back the wire loom to see the wire but this light blue wire is used for the 3rd brake light for your truck cab. I've included an image for you to see what that harness looks like.
Once you've found the light blue wire you will want to splice into that wire with quick connects # SWC501746-1 and a 14 gauge wire # DW07550-1.
