Question:
Hi my question is I have a 2009 Ford Focus with a 1 1/4 receiver hitch what kind of cargo carrier can I use. The cargo that I am carrying is a manual wheelchair that is 42inch long and 26inch wide. What kind of carrier do I use?

Expert Reply:
For your 2009 Ford Focus the hitches we carry limit the capacity to 200 lbs and Class I. So for your cargo carrier, I recommend the 19x47 Curt Cargo Carrier # C18110. This will fit the length of your manual wheelchair but you will need to collapse it to fit the width of the carrier. It will give you a steel grate to make sure your 4 wheels have a sturdy base and then you will need to secure it with straps like the ProGrip Cam Buckle Straps - 400 lbs - Qty 2 # 317-412080.
