Expert Reply:
If the inner leg of the landing gear on your 2009 Keystone Cougar 5th Wheel Trailer is loose and falling to the ground, I recommend replacing the leg altogether. The fact that the inner leg is not staying put indicates an internal issue with the unit.
If you are able to locate the manufacturer and model of the landing gear you have installed, I will be happy to make a recommendation. I also recommend taking a quick measurement of the leg to ensure a compatible replacement. For example, the Replacement Follow Leg for Keystone 5th Wheel Landing Gear # LC178652 has a length of 29-1/2 inches. I have included an image that includes additional dimensions on the leg so you can see if it will work as a replacement.
