Generally speaking, the best oil/transmission cooler to use would be the largest one you have space available for in front of the radiator/condenser behind the grill of your 2009 Chevy Silverado 1500. Therefore, as long as you have 13" wide x 4-9/16" tall x 2" deep of space in this location the Derale Plate-Fin Engine Oil Cooler Kit w/ Adjustable Sandwich Adapter part # D15602 would do an excellent job of cooling your engine oil.
The Derale Oil Cooler Kit comes with everything you will need for installation. In order to install the sandwich adapter on your 4.8L V8 engine you will want to use the thread adapter with the green marking.
