Is the Extended Round U-Bolt Kit Needed when Installing the Rear Anti-Sway Bar on a 2015 Ford F53

Published 10/04/2017

Question:

Looking to purchase the Roadmaster Front# 1139-148 and Rear# 1139-149 sway bars. I have a 2015 Newmar Canyon Star Toyhauler on the Ford F53 frame and heavy axle. I have 1/2 inch of threads below the nuts on my existing U-bolts. Do I need to order the longer U-bolts # 590050-10? Thanks.

When installing the Roadmaster Front Anti-Sway Bar for Motor Homes # RM-1139-148 and the Roadmaster Rear Anti-Sway Bar for Motor Homes # RM-1139-149 on your 2015 Newmar Canyon Star Toy Hauler there are a few things you will want to look for.

When I spoke with my contact at Roadmaster he said that you will want to make sure that you have at least 3 threads showing on the U-bolts after installing the rear anti-sway bar. Since you only have half an inch that you can see you will want to go ahead and install the Extended Round U-Bolt Kit # RM-590050-10 as well.

You will also want to make sure that there is room on your frame rail for the brackets as some toy haulers have chassis that have been modified to accommodate the heavier load. I have attached a picture of where the brakcet attaches to the frame for you to use as a reference.

Some review videos and installation instructions have also been attached for you to use.
