Open eye leaf forward or in the rear also can or should shackles be used

When installing a slipper spring, like the 2-Leaf Slipper Spring # e29SR, you will install it so that the end with the eye is oriented towards the front of the trailer and the open end is facing the rear part of the trailer.
You will need to use hangers when installing slipper springs and avoid shackle straps. Since one end of the slipper spring is open and not "fixed" it will not sit properly if shackle straps are used.
I have attached a helpful article that goes into detail about what parts are needed and how to install slipper springs.
